One Day’s Pay

One Day's Pay is a grassroots campaign encouraging settlers and non-Indigenous Canadians to donate a day’s pay (or what they can afford) to Indigenous-led projects, movements, organizations, and nations. Launched on September 30, 2021, Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the initiative seeks to address the legacy of residential schools by prompting meaningful action beyond reflection. Over three years, the campaign has raised nearly $750,000.

The initiative is guided by The Circle on Philanthropy, an Indigenous-led organization that works to transform the philanthropic sector by redistributing wealth, empowering Indigenous wisdom, and strengthening organizational infrastructure for Indigenous communities. One Day’s Pay aims to be an ongoing effort to support justice and reconciliation, inviting Canadians to contribute annually and to volunteer.

This resource is ideal for those seeking a tangible way to support Indigenous communities, aligned with the values of justice, reconciliation, and community-building.
